- Search for artist and song name and then add MP3 at the end, such as Michael Jackson Beat It MP3
- Purchase the song file (they're cheap, usually $1.29) and then download it to your phone

- Open Apple Music and navigate to the iTunes Store - OR - use your computer's web browser and go to Amazon.com

- Purchase the song file (they're cheap, usually $1.29) and then download it to your computer

Hey — we’re John & Rebecca. We started this because we were tired of giving gifts that didn’t mean anything.
We wanted a gift that would truly show someone how much you care... the kind that makes them pause, smile, and maybe even tear up a little.
So we built CustomVinylRecords.com - a way to turn your favorite songs, photos, and memories into a gift that's personal, lasting, and unforgettable.
FAQs
How do I create my vinyl record?
First, choose your vinyl size, 7" or 12", depending on how much audio you want to include. Then select your style, whether classic black, a solid color of your choosing, or our full-color picture disc, which is our #1 best seller.
Second, add your audio files.
Third, add your artwork. This can be as simple as uploading a photo from your phone or any custom artwork you've created.
How many songs can I add?
You can include up to 14 minutes of audio on a 7” record (7 minutes per side) and up to 40 minutes on a 12” (20 minutes per side). As you add songs, our Record Builder will show you how much time you have left on each side.
Can I use songs from places like Spotify or Apple Music?
You can upload any songs you’ve purchased from places like the iTunes Store, Amazon, and others — as well as any audio files you already have, such as voice recordings, vows, and toasts.
Streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music don't let you actually purchase and own songs, so most users use the iTunes Store or Amazon instead.
If you’re on a mobile device, the easiest thing to do is purchase and download songs from Amazon.com, watch this video to see how. (Note that songs downloaded from the iTunes Store can’t be uploaded directly from your phone because of Apple’s iOS permissions. For those iTunes Store tracks, you’ll just need to switch to a computer to download your files and then complete your uploads, see below.)
If you’re on a computer, you have more options because you can use audio files downloaded from pretty much any service, plus files saved elsewhere — like Google Drive, Dropbox, or your desktop — just upload the files from wherever they're saved right into your record. It’s quick and easy, watch this video to see how.

By uploading your audio, you’re agreeing to our Terms of Service.
Can I upload my own artwork or photos?
Definitely! Upload any image that represents your story — a favorite photo, album cover design, or even a handwritten note. Our upload tool supports JPG/JPEG, PNG, PDF, and HEIC files.
What artwork dimensions and formats will look best?
We print in super high-quality 300DPI. If it looks good on your device, it should look good printed. We'll reach out to you if we think there's a problem with your art.
When you upload your art in our Record Builder, you'll have the opportunity to crop it for a perfect fit. And, if you want to ensure the highest quality and most accurate reproduction, submit your art with these square dimensions:
- 12" Record Cover width and height: 3675 pixels or 12.25 inches
- 12" Picture Disc image/photo/art width and height: 3540 pixels or 11.8 inches
- 12" and 7" Inner Label width and height: 990 pixels or 3.3 inches
- 7" Record Cover width and height: 2185 pixels or 7.3 inches
- Keep in mind that inner labels and picture disc images are circular, so the corners of your square images will be cut off. You can see what it looks like framed in the Record Builder.
We accept images and photos in JPG/JPEG, PNG, PDF, and HEIC file formats.
How is the sound quality and playability?
These are genuine records that play beautifully. Each is hand-cut, not factory-pressed, which gives it an authentic, warm vinyl sound. You may hear the classic pops and crackles that make vinyl feel nostalgic and timeless. The volume is about 2.6dB quieter than a pressed record and, unless you’re an audiophile that knows exactly what 2.6dB sounds like, it's very unlikely you'll hear any difference.
Do I need a record player to enjoy it?
Not at all. Many customers buy them as beautiful display pieces. And, if you do have a turntable, it makes the experience even more special.
How long does it take?
We hand-make these one-by-one in real time, so standard turnaround is 10–14 business days. Need it sooner? Rush processing is typically available after you check out.
During holiday periods, we often have longer processing times and may not be able to provide rush processing, so get your order in as early as possible.
What if I need to make changes or if something isn't perfect?
We put your record into production usually within a few hours of your order submittal, so it may or may not be possible to make changes.
There's no risk with us because we guarantee every record. If yours isn’t flawless, you can either get a refund or we'll make you another for free.

As an avid record collector and mixtape aficionado I always wanted to have a custom piece of vinyl. For years I thought this was an impossibility or something that would be super expensive, but then I discovered customvinylrecords.com! My dreams came true as I discovered that I could in fact have a vinyl record mixtape and it didn’t break the bank. I decided to go with the classic 12” black vinyl because nothing says audiophile like black vinyl. I loved designing the jacket and center labels as well. This will be a keepsake for my fiancée and myself for the rest of our lives which just makes my heart happy. I was slightly apprehensive about what the sound quality would be like but I was pleasantly surprised by how fantastic the record sounds which is what really mattered to me (my fiancée not so much but she too was impressed!) The print quality of the jacket and the labels were equally impressive. The images were crisp, clear, and vibrant! The overall turnaround time had my head shipping! I believe I received the record in less than 2 weeks. When I first started to seriously look into getting a custom record I figured it would take months so getting it in 2 weeks blew my mind. A strong 10 overall experience and quality product! I will 100% be purchasing another record with my own personal music just so I can say I have my music on wax. It truly is the perfect gift for a loved one or even for yourself.
Visually, the product is great. It looks exactly how I would have imagined it. The thickness of the disk was surprising though. That's something you should mention. In addition, the thickness seems to put a lot of pressure on the jacket. I am worried that over time the jacket will tear or come apart. Secondly, my turntable has an auto stop. The pressing started a good distance in from the ourter edge which made the end of the last song closer to the center than normal. My turntable cut off before the end of the last song.
This turned out to be such a unique and memorable gift! The customization process was easy, the image quality looks fantastic, and the finished product exceeded my expectations. The vinyl sounds great, it's something we'll enjoy for years to come, and made some great wall art too! If you're looking for a personalized gift that's both meaningful and personally unique, I highly recommend – it made my girl's day!!

I bought this for a gift, so the recipient has not opened the finished album and played it yet. However, I was sent a duplicate by mistake so I have listened to that one and it skips on 3 different songs, which is disappointing. I can't be sure they will both be the same, so I have to reserve judgement until then. The process was pretty smooth and the communication with the vendor was good.
I am not sure where to begin. This has exceeded my expectations. I saw the advertisement on Facebook and then had to do some research. After some research, I email the owner some questions. He responded in less than 24 hours. It took me a little bit to figure out how to upload the music but once I did, the process was simple and I could double check it. Then I clicked the purchase button and hoped I hadn’t wasted a bunch of money. In my mind this gift was worth twice as much. It is memories packaged perfectly. The record was extremely protected in its shipment. Pictures on album cover and album are clear. The sound on the record is wonderful. I’m sure I’m going to love it more than my husband for our 20th anniversary but I think I’ll at least get a smile out of him. I recommend this company whole heartedly.

I was so blown away by the end product and quality. There were a couple of issues with my artwork and John the owner reached to let me know while offering suggestions. I love this custom vinyl record! Making mix tapes as a kid was one of my favorite ways to curate my music and to be able to do this on vinyl is totally awesome.
